There was a period of time when every pharmaceutical company was attempting to develop and launch a flu vaccine. Everyone wanted to prove that their vaccine was the best, and it was nearly impossible to open a trade publication or attend a conference without being deluged by the number of available vaccines. Like all new products, not all brands stood the test of time, however, and after all was said and done, a few brands like GSK FluLaval and Sanofi Fluzone, emerged as above average.
The number of people interested in receiving the flu shot has grown exponentially over the years. Now, having the right amount of vaccine in your office requires participating in a flu prebook process. It is hard to believe that administering the flu vaccine was an idea that had not yet taken root a decade ago. Fast forward to today, and flu test kits are required medical supplies. More importantly, the flu vaccine is more popular, and necessary, than ever before.
